In a fireside chat with CDL Women’s Caucus Chair, Pearl Rombis, former Justice Epstein will discuss her life with, and career experiences as a trail-blazing female litigator and then trial and appellate judge in Ontario. She will share her perspective that women and lawyers should be open to new experiences, as they can potentially launch their careers into unforeseen and interesting areas. Justice Epstein will reflect on how her decision in M. v. H. not only opened the doors to wider spousal rights for non-heterosexual couples but also had a profound impact on her life – which included her becoming more active in diversity & inclusion issues in Canada and elsewhere in the world.
At the end of this intimate discussion, there will be a question & answer session, where all questions are welcome.
