Governance Structure

Canadian Defence Lawyers is a National Association governed by a Board of up to 25 Full Members, with an Executive Committee elected from among the Directors. The Board is tasked with setting the financial and strategic direction for the Association, and providing management and oversight of the Executive Director.

Section 7 of the Association’s Bylaws set out a clear line of succession for Officer Positions. The Treasurer becomes the 2nd Vice-President, the 2nd Vice President becomes the 1st Vice President, the 1st Vice President becomes the President, and the President becomes the Immediate Past President.
