ACCREDITATION

CDL is a recognized CPD provider across Canada
 
Mandatory CLE is rapidly becoming standard in all provinces, however the requirements vary widely. We have up to date information below, but please consult your provincal law society or territorial bar for details. Where possible our CLE is accredited.


AB: CDL programmes receive accreditation by the Alberta Insurance Council. Click here for more information

BC: CDL is a Pre-Approved CPD Provider. Requirements: 12 hours, including 2 hours of ethics/ client relations/ practice management, per calendar year.

ON: As of January 2011, lawyers and paralegals will be required to complete each year at least 12 hours of CPD  with 3 of the 12 hours related to ethics, professionalism and/or practice management.   We also receive accredation from the LSUC's Certified Specialist Program.

QC: Individual lawyers report their CPD hours personnally. Requirements: 30 hours every 2 years (April 1 - March 31).

MB: There is no mandatory CLE requirements, however the Manitoba Law Society expects a minimum of 12 hours reported per year.
 
NS: Nova Scotia does not have mandatory CLE for litigators. Mandatory reporting of the hours and nature of the CLE attended is required in the annual individual practice report required by the NSBS.

PE: PEI does not have mandatory CLE, but there is an insurance credit available for those who attend law society approved CLE. CLE providers are not listed or accredited but the law society approves any program offered. 

NF: The Law Society of Newfoundland & Labrador occasionally designates seminars as compulsory.
